Elemental Wand Construction
This page explains the construction and symbolism of the Elemental Wand.
The Elemental Wand is intended for those who have attained the Adeptus Minor Grade. It unites the Four Classical Elements into a single balanced magical instrument for general ceremonial work.
Materials
- One hardwood dowel, 36 inches long.
- Diameter between 3/8 inch and 3/4 inch.
- Ash Wood (Fraxinus) — Recommended.
- White Primer.
- White, Red, Yellow, Blue, Black and Gold Paint.
- Clear Protective Finish.
Optional: Universal Fluid Condenser
Drill a compartment approximately two inches deep into the White end of the Wand, insert the Universal Fluid Condenser, seal the opening, then complete the painting process.
Why Ash?
Ash has long been regarded as one of the finest woods for magical instruments. Symbolizing the World Tree, balance, and the union of Heaven and Earth, it provides an ideal foundation through which the Four Elements may be invoked, directed, and harmonized.
Construction
- Sand the wand smooth.
- Apply White Primer.
- Paint the entire wand White.
- Divide the wand into five 5-inch colored sections separated by thin Gold bands.
- Paint the sections White, Red, Yellow, Blue, and Black.
- Paint the dividing bands Gold.
- Apply several coats of clear protective finish.

Optional Preseli Bluestone
A polished piece of Preseli Bluestone may be affixed to the White (Spirit) end of the Wand. This optional enhancement symbolizes the union of Spirit and Matter at the beginning of the Elemental Current and the sanctification of the Wand.
The use of Preseli Bluestone is symbolic and is not required for the magical effectiveness of the Elemental Wand.
Why This Order?
The sequence Spirit → Fire → Air → Water → Earth symbolizes the gradual manifestation of the Divine Creative Current into the material universe.
